As we enter the holiday giving season, we’re committed to providing more ways for people to connect and give to support the causes they care about. Whether you’re contributing to a community fundraiser, discovering a new charity to support, or making a micro-donation at checkout, Giving Tuesday and the holiday season is a time to help however you can.
Discover over one million charities with PayPal Giving Fund
PayPal Giving Fund helps people support their favorite charities online. Charities enrolled in PayPal Giving Fund are verified by PayPal and are automatically listed in the PayPal app and on PayPal Giving Fund online, so it’s easy for you to discover impactful charities. You can find organizations focused on everything from disaster relief, to hunger, to gender equality.
When you donate on the PayPal website or in the app, PayPal will cover the transaction fees, meaning 100% of your gift supports charity. To get started, open up your PayPal app, go to Payments and select Give to find over one million charities vetted by PayPal.
Start a Fundraiser
With PayPal Fundraisers, you can find people who need help or start a fundraiser for yourself, a friend, a group, or a charity, all in the PayPal app or online. You have the option to crowdfund for individuals, charities, or community efforts, or look for existing fundraisers to support.
You can create a fundraiser by following the steps below:
- In the PayPal app, go to Payments > Give > Start a fundraiser.
- Name your fundraiser and set a goal amount and end date.
- Add details for your fundraiser and upload an image.
- Publish the fundraiser and share via text, DM, or on social media to help spread the word.
Make a micro-donation at checkout
Give at Checkout makes it easy for you to donate a dollar to support a charity of your choice when you check out with PayPal across millions of online retailers. During this busy holiday shopping season, those dollars can really add up.
To get started, find your favorite charity and click the “heart” icon on their profile page to set them as your favorite. When you're ready to make a purchase, simply click the donation checkbox in checkout.
Give Back using the Venmo App
Venmo customers can also discover new charities to support this holiday season and donate directly through the Venmo app. Customers can browse by charity categories, such as animals and pets, disaster relief, or education.
You can make a donation in the Venmo app by following the steps below:
- Navigate to the search bar, then select “Make a donation”
- Browse the “Find a Charity” page
- Select a PayPal confirmed charity to learn more about their cause
- Tap “Donate” in the middle of the screen
- Enter a donation amount and a note
- Share a donation to inspire friends
