Easily and securely gift money with Venmo in a physical Hallmark card

Last year, we introduced Venmo gift wraps to help you add a personal touch to your gift of money, and today, as we start to approach the holiday gifting season, we’re introducing even more ways to gift with Venmo. In a collaboration with Hallmark, we’re introducing new, first-of-its-kind Hallmark + Venmo Cards which offer an effortless way to securely send money with Venmo in a physical Hallmark card.

Give a Hallmark + Venmo Card for any occasion

More than three quarters (78%) of Venmo customers regularly turn to Venmo to send money as a gift for their friends and family¹ and now, for the first time, Hallmark + Venmo Cards offer a way for you to securely gift money with Venmo in a physical greeting card. Hallmark + Venmo Cards offers some peace of mind that your gift will make it to the person you intended – no more lost checks or cash, or even a dash to the ATM.

Whether you’re a grandparent sending your grandchild a birthday gift from afar, you’re going in on a group gift for a wedding, or a family celebrating a recent graduation, Hallmark + Venmo Cards offer a singular, convenient and special solution for any of your gifting needs.

Here’s how the new Hallmark + Venmo Cards work:

• Choose a card from the range of occasions available, including Birthday, Congrats, Wedding, Holiday and Everyday.
• With your phone’s camera, scan the unique Venmo QR Code in the Hallmark + Venmo Card. This will open the Venmo app.
• From here, you’ll be prompted step-by-step to search for a recipient with a Venmo username, phone number or email.
• Next, enter the amount you’d like to gift and a payment note, then review your payment and confirm which payment method you’d like to use.
• Once confirmed, the payment is pending until only the recipient you selected scans the QR Code. Recipients will have 180 days to redeem the Venmo gift you’ve sent, otherwise it’ll be returned to your Venmo account.
