I’m excited to kick off 2017 by announcing a great new addition to PayPal’s Board of Directors. Belinda Johnson joined the board on January 12. She is the Chief Business Affairs and Legal Officer at Airbnb, a community marketplace for people to list, discover and book unique accommodations around the world. She is a talented attorney and a recognized global business leader who has been focused on crafting and directing policies and strategies that enable high-growth, consumer-facing internet companies for more than two decades.

 

Belinda has an impressive background and, since joining Airbnb in 2011, she has been a key leader in its growth from a small start-up to a global brand. Today, Airbnb’s community marketplace includes millions of listings in more than 50,000 cities and 191 countries. In her role, Belinda guides Airbnb’s business engagement and operational strategies, overseeing the public policy, community mobilization, legal, communications, compliance, social impact and employee experience teams. Prior to joining Airbnb, Belinda was Deputy General Counsel at Yahoo! and served as the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Broadcast.com, one of the first companies to stream music over the internet.

 

The entire PayPal team joins me in welcoming Belinda to the board. We are impressed with her track record of developing customer champion strategies for fueling growth and charting new business approaches for creating great customer experiences. She will be a great addition to our board and I look forward to her valuable contributions to PayPal.
