The International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, #CES2016, has come to a close and I’ve spent the last week recovering from sensory overload. I’m still reeling from all the cool new gadgets coming to market this year and have added 80% of the products to my wish (read: want) list. Here’s a rundown of coolest things I saw at CES 2016 and am eager to buy:
The talk of the town, Owlet is a smart sock for infants. Seriously. It monitors your baby’s breathing, heart rate and other vitals – a dream come true for worried first-time parents and veterans alike. As a father of five (5!), I wish this product and app were around to curb some of my 3:00am “is my child still alive” crib checks years ago.
Fashion + function = safety with WiseWear’s
Socialite bracelet. A stylish activity tracker designed for women, this bracelet can also blast your GPS location and distress signal to emergency contacts with a single tap – no awkward fumbling for your phone in potentially sketchy situations and a discrete way to share your coordinates when you’re feeling just a little uneasy in a situation. I’m ready to buy out their full inventory for my teenage daughter!
Game.Changer. This portable translation tool resembles a thumb drive and is meant to be worn around your neck. Talking to someone who doesn't speak the same language as you? Just hold down the button and speak into Ili; the product then translates and projects your message in the desired language from its built-in speaker. I’m really excited to get my hands on this little device.
Lastly, the one product my friends were asking about the minute I got back from CES 2016: LG Display’s new OLED 18-inch display. This 18-inch screen can be rolled up like a newspaper and is only 1mm thick. Hands down, the single COOLEST thing I saw in Las Vegas all week and at the very top of my purchase list.
Another year in the books and all the more motivation to #paypalit for these lust-worthy CES picks!
