Ecuador Earthquake: Here’s How You Can Help

Over the weekend, the strongest earthquake to strike Ecuador in decades left a trail of destruction across the Andean nation's coastal region. According to the latest figures, the 7.8-magnitude quake killed 413 people and thousands more have been displaced, sleeping outdoors in open spaces as they fear another earthquake.

As Ecuador struggles to deal with the devastation, we can come together and make a difference. Xoom, a leading digital money transfer provider and PayPal service, wants to support those affected by the recent earthquake, and make it easy for you to donate to the relief effort.

From today through May 2nd, 2016, Xoom customers can send money directly to the Ecuadorian Red Cross. 100% of the donation amount will benefit the Ecuadorian Red Cross, which is working to provide emergency shelter, medical supplies, water and food. In addition, Xoom will donate the fee that was paid for every donation made to the Ecuadorian Red Cross until May 2nd, 2016.
