Give Back and Be Part of a Guinness World Records™

As we head into the holiday season, it’s easy to get caught up in finding the perfect gift, or the best deal. But before you get swept into the hustle and bustle of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, take a minute now to mark your calendar for a new, important holiday tradition: #GivingTuesday.

Held the Tuesday after Thanksgiving – December 1 this year – #GivingTuesday encourages all of us to focus on giving back to our communities, locally and globally, through donations to charities that that help make the world a better place.

PayPal has been helping our users support the causes they care about for more than 16 years, and we’re proud to partner with 92nd Street Y, founders of #GivingTuesday, to make this year’s event the biggest ever.

In fact, we’re hoping this year will be so big that it breaks a Guinness World Records™ titlefor the most money donated online for charity in 24 hours. Last year, PayPal users helped raise $8.6 million through our Give Cheer campaign in the U.S. and Canada, and we think that this year, we will top the current Guinness World Records™ of raising $19 million in 24 hours.

Let’s set a record together!
Donate on December 1st – from 12:00AM to 11:59PM Eastern Standard Time – with PayPal to any charity, anywhere in the world. When you do, we’ll count your donation toward the record-setting attempt. Donating with PayPal is fast, easy and safe.

Even better, when you donate $10 or more at www.paypal.com/givecheer throughout December, we’ll make sure that 100% of your donation reaches the charity you select, and we’ll add an extra 1% to your donation. It’s another way to help your donation go even further!

Make your calendar on December 1st to support your favourite cause by donating on #GivingTuesday. Help celebrate the start of the holiday giving season, and be part of a new Guinness World Records™, too!

Happy Thanksgiving!
