How You Can Help People Affected by Hurricane Matthew
On Tuesday Oct 4, Hurricane Matthew struck Haiti with torrential rain and sustained winds of 145 mph before continuing on through the Caribbean up to the Carolinas, wreaking havoc on coastal communities and unleashing serious flooding inland. The impact of the storm is still being assessed, but it is clear there is a need for support as organizations deploy resources and personnel to the affected areas.

As with any natural disaster of this magnitude, the need for aid will be vast and recovery will be long. PayPal is mobilizing our resources to help those affected.

We have launched a disaster relief campaign featuring organizations like the American Red Cross, CARE USA and Save the Children, who are working directly and through local partners to provide relief with emergency shelters, medical supplies and food.

PayPal is covering all costs associated with these donations, ensuring that 100% of your contribution will be sent to your chosen organization(s) via the PayPal Giving Fund. Please consider donating to one or more of the organizations featured.

To further help those in need, Xoom, a PayPal cross border money transfer service, is waiving all money transfer and top-up fees for its services to Haiti until Oct 15, 2016.

We’re extremely grateful to all those who are able to help, and our thoughts are with all of the people affected by the storm.
