New Money Has No Boundaries
 
We launched PayPal’s first brand campaign “New Money” as an independent company during the Super Bowl in February this year. For our consumers and businesses in Asia, New Money has no boundaries.
 
In Asia Pacific, where cross-border e-commerce is thriving, consumers and businesses are no longer limited to national borders. No other group is taking greater advantage of this than the millennial generation.
 
Millennials in Asia are the most global
Intrepid at heart, millennials are bold shoppers who are comfortable shopping beyond their home country. In a recent global study from PayPal and Ipsos surveying cross-border buying patterns of millennials, we found that seventy-nine percent of millennials in Asia Pacific have shopped online in the past 12 months, higher than the global average of 73 percent, and with two in five shopping cross-border. One in three cross-border transactions made by millennial shoppers are made on a tablet or smartphone, with consumers in China and India leading the pack.
 
The rise of the Millennial entrepreneur
In tandem, millennial entrepreneurs are creating new idea-based businesses, ushering a new wave of entrepreneurship.The allure of being an entrepreneur amongst millennials has never been greater, arising from the combination of how mainstream digital payments and social platforms have become, as well as an independent self-starter spirit that is driving a wave of innovation to achieve purpose driven work and life.
