PayPal Adds Payments Industry Innovator to Executive Team
Through a combination of technological innovation and strategic partnerships, PayPal is on a mission to create better ways to manage and move money, offering choice and flexibility when sending payments, paying or getting paid. As part of our ongoing focus on this critical mission, I am pleased to announce that PayPal has hired Mark Britto, a leading innovator in the payments industry, to join our executive team as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global Credit.

With over 20 years as an entrepreneur, sales and financial services executive, Mark’s diverse and broad experience in financial products as well as his passion for leading high performing teams will help propel PayPal forward.

Mark began his career in senior credit and risk management roles at leading national banks FirstUSA and Bank of America before going on to start his first company, Accept.com, which was bought by Amazon in 1999 and served as the primary backbone of Amazon’s global payments platform. After spending four years as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Services and Sales at Amazon, Mark became CEO of Ingenio, a service marketplace and performance advertising company, which he led to a 2007 acquisition by AT&T. Mark joins PayPal from Boku, a company that he founded and spent nearly a decade making the largest independent carrier billing company in the world, integrated with hundreds of mobile operators all over the globe. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research and a Master’s in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley.

Mark joins PayPal today and will report directly to me. Mark will play a key role in advancing our strategies to provide credit options that drive increased engagement for consumers and drive growth for merchants. He will lead a great team of professionals around the world who are dedicated to providing fast, fair and convenient financing solutions to our customers.

At PayPal, we work hard to create a culture that attracts talented and passionate people that are committed to excellence. This results in an exceptional experience for our customers and a superior environment for our employees.

We are proud to welcome Mark to PayPal’s executive team.

Gary Marino, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, PayPal
