PayPal App Makes It Easier for Android Users to Login
With the latest
PayPal app update, we are expanding the ability to log into the PayPal app using fingerprint authentication on Android devices with the Android Marshmallow operating system – like the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and Samsung Galaxy S7 – so more of our customers can have a secure and convenient login experience.
This is part of PayPal’s ongoing effort to help the tech industry move people beyond the password.
We’ve done this with
One Touch™, which lets consumers who opt in, check out without having to type in their usernames, passwords or billing information across participating merchants, until they turn it off or it expires. In collaboration with Samsung, we were the first to
introduce fingerprint authentication on the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S6 to login to PayPal and shop at any merchant that accepts PayPal online, and we brought this same experience to
LG V10 users last year.
We also enable our customers to use Apple’s
Touch ID on their devices to log into the PayPal app quickly and seamlessly. In fact, on Touch ID eligible iOS devices, 60% of daily PayPal app iOS logins are done with fingerprint.
When we launched the
redesigned PayPal app earlier this year, we told you we were putting our customers first. We are continuing to listen to your feedback so we can give you the best mobile app experience and support as many devices as possible.
The latest version of the PayPal app will be rolling out over the next few days, you can find it in the Google Play store!
