PayPal Currency: Leveling the Playing Field

Our global economy is full of tiny start-ups and huge global corporations. But lately, a new segment has been growing faster than the industry standard. It’s called the “middle market,” and it’s comprised of businesses that have graduated from start-ups to mature into larger organizations where the right technology is vital to continued growth. Interestingly, few businesses exist to serve the needs of this growing segment.
 
For the past decade, PayPal had focused its merchant-customer efforts on primarily large enterprises and SMBs. But the opportunity to serve the growing middle market was too big to ignore, and in September 2015, PayPal announced a strategic shift to pursue the middle market. With products like PayPal Working Capital, PayPal is able to partner with small businesses to provide the resources needed to grow from small to middle markets -– and beyond. And the more fluid and invisible the checkout process can be, the better business will become for everybody.
