PayPal Hosts First U.S. Small Merchant Advocacy Day
PayPal Advocacy Day attendees
Last week,
PayPal hosted its first annual small merchant advocacy day in Washington D.C. Twelve members of PayPal’s Small Merchant Advocacy Delegation, a group of merchants who advocate for the interests of small Internet-enabled companies, talked to U.S. House and Senate Members about the many ways PayPal enables small businesses to succeed.
At PayPal, serving small businesses is at the heart of our mission. We see it as both a responsibility and a privilege to help empower small business owners by providing financial services and tools that help businesses grow and thrive. We are committed to advancing this important work.
Constant and constructive communication with policymakers, here in the U.S., and around the world, is critical to our ongoing work to protect the interests of the small businesses we serve. Our Corporate Affairs team works diligently each and every day to educate policymakers on current or potential challenges facing small business.
But it is the voices of our merchants that matter most. That is why it is so important for PayPal merchants to share their stories with policymakers. Your voices really do make a difference.
During last week’s event, Small Merchant Advocacy Delegation members including Zeke Freeman of
Bee Raw and Lisa Brooks of
Heart & Soul Personal Chef Service met with 29 different Congressional offices to share how PayPal helped remove barriers to starting their businesses, helped them access capital to grow through
PayPal Working Capital, and helped open their storefronts to the world.
We look forward to continuing to work with you on navigating challenges that may come your way and building opportunities for your businesses to prosper and grow.
