PayPal Introduces New Leader for Global Product Team
For just about a month, PayPal has been searching for a new leader of Global Product for PayPal. Product is the heartbeat of PayPal, so it was imperative that we found the best fit to run this team so we can keep innovating at scale.

We looked at both internal and external candidates and I’m thrilled to announce we’ve found the ideal candidate within our own PayPal family. Hill Ferguson, who currently heads up our Mobile team, will now assume leadership of the Global Product team.

I’ve known Hill for a long time, having worked together at Zong and most recently as leaders of the PayPal Mobile team. Hill is obsessed with consumer and merchant experiences, and he’s the kind of guy who loses sleep when we put our customers through bad experiences. Hill has a strong track record of delivering: the ability to develop and drive a global product vision; a deep knowledge and understanding of the customer experience; an entrepreneurial spirit; an innate capability to cut through the clutter and simplify things; and finally an extensive experience in payments and financial services products.

Hill’s career achievements are impressive, having led product teams at Yahoo! around several of their flagship products including Yahoo! Finance. He then served as GM for Yodlee, where he developed a slew of new products that quadrupled the company’s revenue; founded LoanBack, which has processed over $1.5B in “friends and family” loans; co-founded Moneycard Financial, an innovative financial services company serving the underbanked; before joining me at Zong to invent the most frictionless mobile payment experience in over 50 countries. More recently, as the head of PayPal’s Mobile product team, he led our efforts around PayPal Here and, subsequently, the Mobile Check In API.

At PayPal we truly feel that we have an enormous opportunity to change the world and create the future of money, and we can’t wait to deliver the next installments of that vision.
