PayPal & WooCommerce Expand Digital Payment Integration Extension

The flexibility and convenience of online payment methods gives customers more options and businesses more ways to sell. While concerns about extra fees and costs may keep many merchants from moving their payments online, extending methods beyond cash may help achieve a boost in sales and is preferred by 52% of buyers who want to choose from a variety of payment options

Having uncovered this growing need for online businesses to simplify payments and to accept more than just credit cards on websites, WooCommerce identified PayPal as the preferred partner powering WooCommerce users around the globe. Building on the success of our relationship, WooCommerce has selected PayPal’s advanced payment integrations as part of their core offering for WooCommerce users at no cost.

This partnership offers all new and existing WooCommerce users access to PayPal powered by Braintree and Express Checkout extensions in the marketplace. These two newly added PayPal integrations enable customers to receive online payments for products and subscriptions in their WooCommerce stores, allowing merchants to accept major forms of payment including PayPal, Credit Card and Debit Card, in addition to features like One Touch™ and recurring billing.

WooCommerce customers can now also quickly integrate a checkout flow without impacting their store’s design and create a PayPal branded checkout experience with guest checkout options for new merchants.

As part of the upgrade to PayPal’s current offering to WooCommerce customers, WooCommerce’s plug-in extension fee will be waived for PayPal users so that customers can start selling more, free of charge.

"PayPal has been a pivotal partner in our quest to democratize eCommerce globally,” said Magnus Jepson, Co-Founder, WooCommerce. “As a growing eCommerce platform, PayPal has come along side us to collaborate on innovative payment solutions that make WooCommerce the perfect solution for online stores of all sizes. We look forward to continuing to work with PayPal in empowering businesses, by offering the payment tools that make selling online even more accessible, secure and painless."

WooCommerce customers can use PayPal powered by Braintree by simply clicking on the Connect with Braintree button, and activating the payment solution within the cart
