Powering Giving in Brazil
PayPal is powering the giving behind a very important campaign. Our Brazil team has partnered with Americas Amigas, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting breast cancer by providing yearly mammograms to women who don’t have access.

One of the keys to surviving breast cancer is early diagnosis and treatment. There’s a 95% survival rate when it’s caught early enough. However, in Brazil’s underserved communities, where access to health education and preventative care is scarce, 42% of women who get breast cancer die because of late diagnosis.

We know we can change those numbers in Brazil. It starts with greater awareness and better medical equipment in more facilities to provide yearly mammograms for women with limited access to health care. When you donate to Americas Amigas using PayPal, you’re directly supporting that effort.

In addition to driving donations for the cause, the campaign is raising awareness for the issue by encouraging people to don pink glasses and share the photos on social media. Brazilian celebrities including soccer players and entertainers like singer, Ivete Sangalo, have joined in to spread the word. And PayPal employees in Sao Paulo are doing their part as well.

So if you have some pink spectacles lying around, they’ll now come in handy – just use the hashtag #lookthatbenefits. If you don’t, consider making a donation, knowing that you’re helping to save the lives of those that could use our help.
