Every year, we have the honor of attending
Magento's Imagine in Las Vegas. For one week, the influencers in the Magento Global community come together to share their successes, challenges and to chart the course for the next year. It’s one of the world’s most vibrant developer communities and continues to gain momentum. At the recent Imagine conference,
PayPal met with great industry minds to discuss changes happening in the marketplace. This year’s highlights included:
- A PayPal sponsored Payments Panel moderated by Andy Barker, Magento’s Senior Director of Global Payments & Strategy. It featured System Integrators Gorilla Group and Irish Titan, as well as merchants SuperATV and ShopJimmy.com. The discussion focused on evolving payment technologies for consumers and the importance of mobile optimization to enable growth. As Lindsay Hunt, VP Sales & Administration of SuperATV put it, “having a mobile-friendly site is critical, coupled with an easy checkout process.”
- PayPal Solutions Engineering Manager Jon Higby and Magento Evangelist Ben Marks spoke about the difference between mobile and desktop shoppers, highlighting the significant conversion drop-off on mobile when compared to desktop*. So while mobile is hot, conversion is not. For this reason, integrating the right technology to create a frictionless checkout is critical to success.
- During Braintree GM Juan Benitez’s keynote, Juan shared that mobile shopping transactions are predicted to increase by 74% within the next two years**. Mobile is at the intersection of customer relations and innovation, and that’s been the focus of PayPal’s partnership with Magento: the development of a world-class payment platform in one simple integration, alongside growth-enabling tools that help stimulate your customers to buy your products, while providing an easy, secure checkout experience.
Solution integration is more than creating efficiencies for customers. PayPal and Magento understand simplicity and expertise are two of the most valuable commodities to business owners. And so, solution integration also means making life simpler for merchants.
Imagine provided everyone in attendance the chance to share, learn and prepare for the ever-changing e-commerce landscape. Throughout the event I sensed renewed optimism and I am confident in the
integrated solutions we offer will not only help businesses stay competitive, but to adapt and thrive in the future. This is due in part to our community of customers who share what they need and want from us.
