#RioByPayPal: Travel to Rio de Janeiro with PayPal
Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city in Brazil and the third largest in Latin America. From the world-famous beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema, to the magnificent summits of Corcovado (Christ the Redeemer) and Sugarloaf Mountain, Rio combines natural attractions with a vibrant culture. The city will be in the spotlight in two months when Rio will host more than half a million tourists for the world’s foremost sporting event.
From June 2-5, 2016,
PayPal hosted 18 travel, entertainment, fashion and tech bloggers from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, China, India, Japan, Australia, Canada and the US in Rio. Brazilian Internet celebrity
Hugo Gloss and journalist
Flávia Oliveira, a notable economy columnist, played hosts to our guests and took them on a tour of the best of Rio -- from the picturesque Corcovado and watching the sunset on Ipanema beach to taking a boat ride in Marapendi, tasting local food and shaking a leg at a samba performance.
The entire #RioByPayPal tour was cashless - we showed our guests how they could use PayPal to pay for transportation, accommodation, attractions, entertainment and souvenirs. Armed with PayPal, visitors to Rio don’t have to worry about carrying cash, exchanging local currency or sharing credit card details with local tour guides.
