PayPal President and CEO Dan Schulman sent an email to our global employees today about the U.S. Government’s executive order. You can read it below.
Email Title: Supporting Our Colleagues Around the World
Colleagues,
As you no doubt saw this morning, the U.S. government has made a sudden move by executive order to ban travel to the United States by nationals of seven countries – Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. This order applies for 90 days and precludes entry to the U.S. to citizens of these seven countries, including those who have U.S. employee or student visas or are green card holders. The order also prevents the admission of all refugees to the United States for at least the next four months.
We are a global company, and we pride ourselves on having an extraordinarily talented and international workforce located in offices around the world. We support the entirety of our global community of colleagues, and our contributions are strengthened by having a diverse and vibrant company. My immediate concern is for the wellbeing and safety of all of our employees around the world who may now be facing new risks or restrictions.
At this time, we understand that we have approximately six employees who have U.S. Visas or are green card holders who are immediately impacted, and we are reaching out to them directly to help. But there may be other employees who are not citizens of the listed countries and/or who have U.S. green cards who may just have questions. So if this new executive order impacts you or a family member, and we have not been in contact with you, please reach out to MyHR at one of the numbers listed below, so that we can help answer your questions:
· MyHR in Americas: X- XXX-XXX-XXXX
· MyHR in EMEA: XXX-X-XXX-XXXX

MyHR can also help connect you with the Global Employee Assistance Program (EAP) which has counselors available to support all employees globally as needed. You can also access EAP via the Bridge (choose MyHR for Me, choose your country, and then click on Benefits). As always, the latest information about Travel & Safety can be found on our Travel Safety page on the Bridge which is updated regularly. I also encourage you to speak to your manager if you have concerns about travel plans.
Please know that we are working to support all employees and their immediate families who may be affected by the new travel ban. We will make sure that we do everything we can to provide fast and effective legal support and assistance to anyone affected. We will be monitoring developments closely, and doing all that we can do to help them and their families navigate the current situation.
PayPal is a company that will always be guided by our mission, vision and values. In doing so, we all stand together with our colleagues of all citizenships, nationalities, race, religions, and cultural, ethnic or sexual identities. Our strength lies in our living our values, supporting diversity, and diversity of thought, and doing our part to help the lives of our customers around the world.
