This International Women’s Day, Make a Difference
Today marks an important celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women globally. Celebrated for more than a decade, International Women’s Day is a day of unity, reflection and advocacy and marks a call to action for accelerating gender equality no matter where you are in the world, or what race, religion or economic status you identify with.

There are so many ways to commemorate this important day, from attending speaking engagements and women’s marches with female leaders, to supporting women-owned businesses who fight for equality and the charitable organizations that lend support to women in need.

In recognition of International Women’s Day, PayPal is spotlighting five female-led brands who #PressforProgress and have made tremendous impact in their industries.

  • Lizanne Kindler, CEO and President of Talbots, was hired to breathe new life into the company after a recession. Thanks to a job well done, Kindler has been at the helm since 2012 and is now overseeing more than 5,000 stores and 9,000 employees.
  • At only 21 years old, Rebecca Minkoff risked her entire life savings to build her fashion empire. Now she’s making headlines with her innovative use of in-store technology like video walls, interactive mirrors and-self checkout stations.
  • It was luck that brought Jenn Lee Koss to Kena Paranjape’s lifestyle blog and made her a fan. But it was determination that transformed their creative business proposal into a reality. Now the two provide over 400 independent artisans with BRIKA, a simple platform to sell their goods.
  • Hayley Mullins and Ashley Wade, Co-Founders of Sleepbelt created a patented wrap to keep resting newborns secure. The product has gone on to be endorsed by nurses, educators and parents alike.
  • At her baby’s first steps, Ashleigh Dempster, Founder of AKID, realized there was a market need for cool kid shoes so she created a gender-neutral line that’s become a go-to for some of Hollywood’s most notable toddlers.
