A third of all charitable giving occurs in December and in the 2015 holiday giving season seven million people worldwide participated in the annual surge of generosity by donating $857 million to charity through PayPal.

Many were encouraged to donate online through the PayPal Giving Fund which is PayPal’s donor advised fund and through the PayPal app. PayPal waives fees for enrolled charities and holiday donations receive a 1% match.

This year, PayPal is expecting to facilitate a record-breaking holiday season donation total with mobile-friendly tools that are designed to increase checkout completion rates so you can help more people realize their good giving intentions.

  • PayPal donation buttons help you quickly accept payments on your website pages and in your emails. “We believe in and use the PayPal donate button in most of our scenarios online,” says Tami Cárdenas from Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, which uses the buttons during the holiday giving season and throughout the year. The donate button is optimized for mobile and anyone can install it in minutes.

  • PayPal.Me is a customized link that lets supporters using PayPal send you cash gifts quickly to your own PayPal.Me URL, which would look like this one for Save the Children: www.PayPal.Me/SavetheChildren.

  • PayPalHere allows your staffers and volunteers to take card swipes on the spot at all your holiday events and all year long. “The PayPal Here process is so simple. Set up your PayPal account if you don’t have one, request the PayPal Here reader and get going,” says Nick Ward, Senior Director Information Systems, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

“PayPal is increasing the size of the charity pie,” says Oktay Dogramaci, head of PayPal’s Global Cause-Related Solutions team. “We can really move the needle with how much we raise for charities. Our tools for nonprofits have huge social impact and, frankly, have business value for us, too.”

Make PayPal your partner in capturing every dollar possible for your mission this holiday season.
