California Wildfires Relief: How You Can Help
Like many of you, I have been tracking the wildfires across Northern and Southern California with a mixture of sadness, dread, and admiration. Sadness for what and who has already been lost; dread for what is still to come; and admiration for the selflessness and bravery of the first responders, and everyone else who has volunteered to help. As a company with headquarters in California, this natural disaster truly hits home for us. These are our colleagues, our customers, our partners, our families, and our friends.
That is why, together with PayPal Giving Fund, we have launched a disaster relief campaign and
fundraising appeal to benefit national and local relief organizations that have mobilized to support the impacted areas. PayPal will cover all fees, ensuring that 100% of donations will be granted to responding charities. Through our employee social impact program, PayPal Gives, we will also match donations made by PayPal employees, according to terms of the program.
PayPal is also making donations totaling $200,000, with $100,000 each to American Red Cross and Direct Relief, to support the respective organization’s relief efforts in Northern and Southern California.
The true, lasting impact of these fires is yet to be known, and we understand that the road to recovery will be long and difficult for those impacted. Our community comes together in profound ways to support relief efforts during tragic events of this nature, and we’re hoping you will once again share your generosity with the people impacted by the California wildfires.
At PayPal, we are thinking about the communities and lives so severely impacted by these unprecedented natural disasters and are committed to doing our part to provide support and aid where possible. We are so grateful for your support.
