Hurricane Relief: How You Can Help

Following the destruction of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton in states across the Southeastern U.S., rescue and recovery efforts are underway as communities begin the long work ahead to rebuild.

All of us at PayPal are grateful to the first responders who have mobilized to begin the process of cleaning up and rebuilding. In support of these efforts, we’ve taken the following actions:

  • Providing a charitable donation to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund to support recovery efforts in North Carolina, the state that was the hardest hit by Hurricane Helene.
  • Waiving Braintree processing fees for all donations to Volunteer Florida, the state’s lead agency for mobilizing volunteers and coordinating donations before, during, and after disasters.
  • Matching PayPal employee donations through an internal employee giving campaign.
  • Pausing Working Capital and Business Loan repayments for business customers impacted by the disaster and seeking temporary financial assistance.

How You Can Help

PayPal provides several ways for our customer community to support those impacted by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. A number of charities that are responding to the disaster are featured in the Giving section of the PayPal app and allow you to easily make donations, without any deductions or transaction fees. In the PayPal app, customers can discover charities vetted by PayPal by scrolling and clicking on ‘Donate’ under ‘Send and Pay.’

Donate with Venmo

To support hurricane relief and recovery efforts, you can also donate with Venmo to GoFundMe.org. Select Venmo during checkout and choose to donate from your balance or other linked payment methods.

We will continue to monitor the situation and update this piece as necessary as developments unfold. We hope you will join us in supporting this cause.
