Turning Everyday Purchases into Something Extraordinary
Last year, we introduced the PayPal Cashback Mastercard in partnership with Synchrony Bank, offering customers the best 2% cash back* credit card available with no annual fee** and a straightforward best-in-class approach to earning and redeeming cash rewards. Unlike other rewards cards, PayPal’s Cashback Mastercard has no annual cash back limit, no minimum redemption, no restriction on how to spend the rewards and no expiration*.

Since then, we asked consumers about their everyday purchases and how they would spend an additional $500 to represent the cash back they can earn with the PayPal Cashback Mastercard.  Over half (55%) of Americans reported spending the most on restaurants and food, with clothing and accessories as the next most popular category, at 23%. When asked where they would spend an extra $500, nearly half (46%) of Americans said they would use it for clothing, shoes, or accessories, followed by tech and electronics (33%), travel (24%), and food and dining (24%)1.

Bringing to life how cash back rewards can turn into something truly extraordinary, we partnered with digital artists Stephen McMennamy and Vanessa Mckeown to curate custom art illustrating what 2% cash back on every purchase can really become.

These illustrations (and so much more!) will be on display at PayPal’s Cash ‘n Back pop-up in New York City on Saturday, June 9th. While the pop-up looks like an ordinary New York bodega from the outside, it will offer extraordinary twists on the inside, where artists Colors Collective, FLWR Studio and Nix + Gerber Studio have turned candy into chandeliers, your lunch into your dream travel destination, and bouquets of flowers into dresses.

The PayPal Cash ‘n Back bodega will be open to the public in Nolita at 201 Mulberry Street, New York, NY 10012 on Saturday, June 9 from 10am-8pm2. Want to come check it out? You can RSVP for free here!
