PayPal Launches the Zettle Terminal – Its New All-in-one POS Solution for Small Businesses
The Zettle Terminal further strengthens PayPal’s in-store and omnichannel offering, putting an entire store kit in the palm of small business owners' hands.

SAN JOSE, Calif., October 27, 2021, PayPal Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: PYPL) today announced the launch of the Zettle Terminal, its new, all-in-one point of sale solution that offers increased mobility in-store for small businesses. The Zettle Terminal will be available in the UK beginning today and will continue to roll-out across additional markets in Europe in 2021 and into 2022, and in the U.S. next year.

With its sleek design, the Zettle Terminal is ready to go right out of the box, no need for a second device to pair it with. Featuring a touchscreen, this digital in-store solution is easy to setup and use, offering small businesses simplicity and speed. Coming in 2022, the Zettle Terminal will also feature an integrated barcode scanner.

The Zettle Terminal comes with a pre-loaded SIM card1, and its combined WiFi and cellular connectivity means that small businesses are no longer dependent on fixed check-out points. The Zettle Terminal makes the checkout completely mobile; the seller is free to complete the entire checkout process, from start to finish, where the customer is – on the shop floor, by the table, on the terrace, at the point of delivery or anywhere where there’s mobile coverage.

The in-store and omnichannel solution comes with the Zettle point of sale app pre-installed, and small businesses will get an integrated solution that not only helps them accept a range of payments in-person — including cards, digital wallets and PayPal and Venmo QR Codes — but also helps them manage sales, inventory, reporting and payments across channels, all in one place. It can also be paired with a dock that has a built-in printer for on-the-spot receipt printing.

"We’re excited to launch our all-in-one point of sale solution, the Zettle Terminal, which puts an entire store kit in the palm of small business owners' hands,” says Jim Magats, SVP, Payments and SMB Solutions, PayPal. “Our work to help small businesses compete and grow has never been more important. With the Zettle Terminal, we will help small businesses sell seamlessly across in-person and online channels, and offer them flexibility throughout the checkout process so they can meet their customers wherever they are. The Zettle Terminal is a complete, mobile in-store solution that will take in-person commerce to the next level.”

Pita London jumped at the opportunity to trial the Zettle Terminal. “We were delighted to use the new Zettle Terminal. The thought and detail put into building the terminal is impressive. A perfect combination of well-made detailed hardware with user friendly yet sophisticated software. It’s the ultimate payment solution that adds speed and efficiency for our busy operations,” said Akiva Cashman from Pita London.

Enabling small businesses to seamlessly sell across in-person and online channels, the Zettle Terminal also offers interoperability through PayPal’s vast partner network, so businesses can easily link their accounts with their preferred ecommerce, accounting and banking partners including, Starling Bank, Intuit QuickBooks and WooCommerce.

Ajit Ramachandran, Fintech Business Segment & Product Leader, Intuit QuickBooks UK & Canada, said: “From starting up to scaling up, our connected platform of tools and expert services lets small businesses seamlessly manage and grow their business from one place; giving them the insights to take on every day with total confidence, the foresight to stay one step ahead, and the power to be more successful. Our partnership with Zettle is a key part of achieving this as it allows firms to take payments, all the way to reconciling their books, all within QuickBooks. We’re really excited about the impact our customers will see.”

In the UK, the Zettle Terminal comes with a pre-loaded SIM card and the Zettle point-of-sale app pre-installed, which is free to use. The device retails at £149, and the printer and dock at £89. Small businesses can buy the Zettle Terminal with a printer and dock as a bundle at £199.
