It’s the same Venmo customers know and love, now with more to discover and explore

For the first time since the app’s inception, Venmo is rebuilding its entire app experience from the ground up — a customer-driven evolution designed to reflect how the next generation lives, spends, and connects with the people and places they love most.
What started as a simple way to split the check has grown into an everyday financial tool for millions of customers to send, spend, earn, and manage their money. Now, the app is being rebuilt to match that transformation with a new architecture that makes it easier to discover and use all that Venmo has to offer.
The new app experience is driven by feedback we heard directly from Venmo customers. A year of interviews, usability tests, and in-depth listening sessions helped inform the new experience. Three things came through loud and clear:
- Keep it Venmo, but make it feel fresh. More modern, visual, and engaging — but still rooted in financial utility with tools to help people more effectively manage and maximize their money.
- Personalization matters. Discounts and cash back ranked as the most important factor in purchasing decisions, and they want deals, offers, and business recommendations that are relevant to them.
- Customers love to share with friends. Customers are excited to share fun moments - a great restaurant, a concert, a local business - but only want to share with people they know and trust.

The new app delivers on that and lays the foundation for something bigger: Venmo becoming the go-to money movement app with products and features we're building to fulfill a broader set of financial needs.”
A Smarter, More Expressive Feed
No other payment app has a social layer that turns everyday transactions into shared moments with friends. Now that layer is getting richer. It's smarter, more personal, and more alive than ever before.

- More ways to express yourself. New animated Venmojis, GIFs, and the added ability to react to payment notes turn the feed from a transaction log to a canvas of the moments worth remembering.
- Discover new favorites through your crew. Customers can share purchases from their favorite brands and local businesses, curating real recommendations from people they trust. Not a review site or sponsored post, but an endorsement from your friends backed by actual transactions.
- Personalized to how customers spend. The more customers use Venmo, the more the feed surfaces tailored cashback offers, product suggestions, and helpful nudges based on their spending — like a suggestion to schedule a monthly rent payment or a cash back offer at a brand they already shop from.
- Privacy, their way. As always, customers are always in control of what they share and who can see it. The new feed experience makes it even easier to manage privacy settings on individual transactions with just a couple of clicks.
The new feed experience will gradually roll out to customers in the coming weeks. As always, Venmo will keep listening, keep learning, and keep building based on what’s resonating for customers.
The Feed Is Just the Beginning
Following the launch of the new feed, additional surfaces will come to life in the app in the months ahead.
- Send. Customers’ closest friends, front and center. Groups, gifting, scheduled payments, and splitting are all easier to find and use.
- Money. One place to see, manage, and do more with their money.
- Rewards. Customers can track every dollar they’ve earned, activate limited time offers, and discover new ways to level up their cash back.
As new surfaces roll out in the months ahead, each update brings more for customers to discover — and another step towards a Venmo that shows up for more financial moments in their lives.
